The boys measured and checked the level to create a perfect base for the wall. We brough in reclaimed bricks, along with some others that they already had. We piled up the bricks ready for construction.

It’s been the hottest week of the year, with temperatures in the high 30’s. The dryness makes landscaping easier, however the heat was certainly something to contend with, but the new wall is looking good. A separate company will be adding tarmac to the driveway area shortly.

The reclaimed, red brick goes with the features of the houses on this street, and will be complimentary to our customer’s home.

The pathway to the back of the house has also been demolished, prior to our arrival. Walking down it alongside the neighbours stunning display of hostas is quite a treat! For continuity, porcelain slabs will be used for the back garden patio and will sweep around the house down this path, towards the front garden.

Our customer has been very kind, placing an awning where we’ve been working, to create some shade, as well as keeping the freezer stocked with ice. Our team brought in another truck load of reclaimed bricks to use in the back garden.

MOT Type 1 was brought in to create the correct level for the base of the new patio. It’s great having good access on this job. It meant that we could tip the Type 1 in the front garden and then barrow it round to the back.

The red brick is being used as a new, retaining wall, which will be at the front edge of the new patio. Check back in with us soon to see how the new patio is looking.
