The next section of this project began with the concrete shed base being constructed, after the previous day’s demolition. The boys also continued with the construction of the raised patio that comes off the back of the house, with steps going down into the garden. Next to the steps a new concrete wall is constructed to edge the new shed. This is painted with damp proof slurry.

Whilst the steps are added, lots of rubble from the demolition is added as infill within the whole, new concrete area. It’s great to see father and son team, Jerry and Sam working on projects together, with Jerry imparting his knowledge to Sam.

Whilst the lower patio is being laid, the rest of the Secret Garden team arrive, and it’s a hive of activity. They carry on with the paving, as well as digging out more of the area in preparation, and constructing the foundation of the shed.

This project is rapidly making progress. It will be interesting to see what happens when the next area of the garden is started. There are plans for a pond, planted borders edged with corten steel and a bespoke garden room. Come back soon to see how this one is going.
