We have recently partnered with local Bristol based company, Crowe Restoration who use the DOFF system for cleaning masonry, natural stone and brickwork.
It is a superheated, low-pressure water and steam system created by Stonehealth.
Tim Crowe, the owner of Crowe Restoration, was a director of Stonehealth for almost twenty years, and now runs his own business specialising with RIBA approved CPD on Masonry Cleaning. He has a wealth of knowledge about the process and technology and we are very pleased to be working with his company.
Water heats up to 150°C at the nozzle, but because it emerges as a gentle vapour at low pressure, it cleans deep without causing structural or thermal shock damage to delicate masonry, stone, or historic brickwork. The operator has complete control over the temperature and pressure, making it a multi-faceted machine.
Superheated Steam Cleaning for Masonry & Stone
How the DOFF System Works
It can be used on all sorts of surfaces, including the facades of buildings, paving, walls, concrete, tiles, wood and terracotta.
Superheated Steam
Water reaches 150°C to melt away stubborn elements.
Low Pressure
Gentle surface impact avoids etching or cracking.
Low Water Volume
Uses minimal moisture, leaving surfaces dry within minutes.
Graffiti & Gum
Removes street vandalism and chewing gum residue.
Paint & Coatings
Lifts oil-based and plastic paints off brick.
No Chemicals Needed
High heat naturally kills biological growth like algae, moss, fungi, and spores - leaving no harmful residue. The thermal sterilisation delays regrowth of this matter, compared to cold water pressure washing; which leaves spores alive on the surface.
