We began working in this garden mid October, with a huge transformation taking place. If you would like to see how this project started out click here. Also, here is a photo from the beginning of this job:
For the second phase of this project, once the majority of the ground work had been completed, the boys started laying a large, new, pale, porcelain patio. The slab dimensions are 0.9 x 0.9m, which were needed due to the large area.
The weather ramped up with lots of rainfall, followed by cold spells, culminating in a lot of mud. Walkways were made using cardboard and rubber mats. The aluminium pergola started to be constructed. It has adjustable roof slats, which can be altered due to rain or sun. It is light weight, simple to construct and really elevates the space at the bottom of the garden.
Whilst the roof slats were being added to the aluminium pergola, the patio and grey limestone edging around the garden were finished off. The large slab step down towards the lawn looks fantastic.
Cherry trees were planted in square borders either side of the steps. Kelly, the electrician stopped by to work on the garden lighting. Lots of cuts were made to the edges of the patio, so that it perfectly hugs the fence line. The soil was rotovated to prepare for the turf.
Upon completion you can now see the entrance to the garden below, which now has bamboo in corten steel planters, with the large expanse of porcelain for the patio. This will have garden furniture added in the springtime. Climbers will work their way up the timber fencing, and the planted borders will start developing as the temperatures warm up in 2026.
The team did a brilliant job laying the lawn. A huge quantity of organic mulch was added to the soil, to suck up the moisture prior to the turf being laid on top.
We love creating designs and constructing them, check back in with us soon to see what our next project is…
