The garden is large, with an open aspect. It is in the Henleaze area of Bristol and has lots of potential. Our customer had already taken up two, old, paved pathways. These were stacked up near to the driveway, where we brought in a mini digger.

The ground throughout the garden is very lumpy and bumpy. The boys used the digger to even out the overall level of the site, along with removing the turf. They removed the old trellis and started removing the roots.

The old, concrete patio was dug up to make way for a new patio and concrete shed base. It was uneven and ugly. We used Autumn Green Sandstone for the patio. As you can tell from the state of the dried out grass, we were still experiencing pretty hot temperatures during this design.

The natural shading of this paving adds interest to this seating area and will make for a wonderful space to entertain family and friends.

Once the paving was laid and was being pointed by Joe, Ben and George started digging holes for the new fence posts. We cut back the shrubs on the other side, as well as removing a couple of old posts at the entrance of the driveway. Prior to this, it was quite difficult to get a vehicle into the space.

When this paving is wet it looks stunning. A matching paved pathway was added back in along the perimeter garden border. The next step was bringing in ten tonnes of topsoil. This was craned in over the garden fence with a grab, making it much easier for our team. It then had to be moved around and raked out.

Our customer is keen to seed their own lawn in the autumn, so this will be the last step for this garden. The new driveway with fence and garden gate looks fantastic; clean, smart and usable.

The concrete shed base is ready for when their shed arrives, and the soil is waiting for it’s new grass. The skeleton of the garden is in place, ready for this family to make it beautiful over the coming years.
