Water heats up to 150°C at the nozzle, but because it emerges as a gentle vapour at low pressure, it cleans deep without causing structural or thermal shock damage to delicate masonry, stone, or historic brickwork. The operator has complete control over the temperature and pressure, making it a multi-faceted machine.
How the DOFF System Works:
- Superheated Steam: Water reaches 150°C to melt away stubborn elements.
- Low Pressure: Gentle surface impact avoids etching or cracking.
- Low Water Volume: Uses minimal moisture, leaving surfaces dry within minutes.
- No Chemicals Needed: High heat naturally kills biological growth like algae, moss, fungi, and spores – leaving no harmful residue. The thermal sterilisation delays regrowth of this matter, compared to cold water pressure washing; which leaves spores alive on the surface.
- Paint & Coatings: Lifts oil-based and plastic paints off brick.
- Graffiti & Gum: Removes street vandalism and chewing gum residue.
It can be used on all sorts of surfaces, including the facades of buildings, paving, walls, concrete, tiles, wood and terracotta.
