Simple Urban Garden Design

This past week, although it’s holiday time and various members of our team have been away getting in some much needed rest and relaxation we’ve had a good time getting a load of us on board to strip down this Bristol garden.

We arrived on Monday morning, the temperature much cooler than the times of recent heat waves. Our customer has, over the past few years found her green fingers and has an allotment nearby where she enjoys growing. She decided that the garden really needed an overhaul to make it a functional space that her and her husband could enjoy.

Bamboo was popping up through the paving from the neighbouring garden, making the paving uneven with weeds coming up. We ripped up the front half of the paving, along with the bamboo roots, and constructed timber framed decking using Scandinavian deck boards. The back half of the paving we left to build the decking upon.

At the opposite end of the garden, next to the garage we prepared the ground for a new patio. The rest of the garden was levelled and prepared ready for a new circular lawn.

We used a lovely grey porcelain for the patio, including for the stepping stones for the pathway across the garden. We dug down to get the level for the pathway.

The decked area is going to make it much easier for the couple who live here to walk out of their patio doors into the garden, and to use it for socialising as well as a place to propagate plants for the allotment.

We are nearing the end of the week, not far off completion. The stepping stones were being laid today with the lawn being laid tomorrow. We can’t wait to see the end result soon, we know that our customer is going to love it!
