Old Decking Transformation

This week we’ve been working in a garden outside of Bristol. This old decking had become rotten, slimy and very slippery. It had seen better days and had to go.

Our team ripped out the decking and prepared the ground for a new lawn. This involved removing bamboo which had strayed from a neighbouring garden along with chunks of old concrete.

We prepared the ground around these two square raised beds for a new chard flint gravelled area. It will be much nicer walking through on gravel towards the lawn when it is complete.

Towards the end of the week we began building a long raised bed out of sleepers. We used a chop saw to cut the pieces to the desired lengths. Once built we lined the sleeper bed to protect the wood from moisture in the soil.

It’s been a busy week landscaping and we’re looking forward to completing this design on Monday. Come back to our blog next week to see the finished result of this garden!
