A mini digger helped with the majority of the ground preparation, and a timber raised border was constructed to match the new fence panels, topped with trellis. Stepping stones curved from the new patio at the back of the house, across towards the new garden gate.
Whilst the stepping stones were being laid, and the soil was being brought in, the boys started to lay grey limestone edging pavers, which match the ones used as the retaining wall of the patio.
Sam added a concrete footing for the edging along the front edge of the patio, which would be durable for more footfall in this area.
George continued to lay grey sandstone slabs for the stepping stones towards the garden gate. They run alongside an old wooden chalet/summer house, which is currently being used for storage.
Waste and materials were brought in and out via the back gate in all weather, but we were glad when it was sunny!
The team carried on creating a winding edge along the other side of the garden, to make a curved border. Our customer will be planting and mulching the borders in the springtime. We will look forward to see what plants they choose to fill their new garden.
Ben and Will tamped down the gravel in the bottom of the trench, prior to laying the mix and topping with pavers.
It’s very enjoyable with a landscaping job gets to this stage, when most of the key elements are in and the last touches of the design are yet to do.
The curved edging looks fantastic with the newly laid lawn, stepping stones and perimeter fence.
The new patio looks stunning, glistening in the light. The timber screening hides a wall that was not particularly exciting. The rest of the fence will be painted to match the screening.
