Back Garden Make Over

Before Christmas we laid a stunning wood effect porcelain paving around the back of this house in Almondsbury, North Bristol. Now that the holidays are over we’ve started tackling the rest of this garden design.

To compliment the paving we used limestone to create a semi circular bed with steps leading down to the garden. These had to be cut to size with a disc cutter, which is always very dusty work!

A concrete footing was laid prior to laying the base of the limestone wall. It’s been super cold this past week with radio 6 keeping the mood light.

Whilst the wall and steps were being built I cut out a border down the left of the garden, widening the existing bed, which goes down towards the shed.

We also started to sand down the timber patio cover structure that was already in situ. It was water marked and needed a bit of freshening up. This will be treated for durability at the end of the project.

This raised bed will look great once it is planted up and will give the edge of the patio some definition and will draw the eye down towards the garden.

The limestone steps are created, curving around the wall. Come back next time and see how this garden progresses!
