If you’d like to see the start of this landscaping project click here. You will be able to see how it started out and the processes we made to get to this point, where the lower grey limestone patio had been laid, with matching edging around the garden, a timber raised bed, and a sunken timber border.

A few tonnes of soil were brought in to create the level for the new lawn. Once this had been done we brought in a variety of plants for the soft landscaping. Part of the garden is quite shady with the other half being in full sun, so we planted a mixture of shrubs, perennials, trees and climbers.

A large lawn to lay but that was no big feat for Team Jerry. They made sure to water in all of the plants and the lawn once down. The watering by the family who live here has been first rate. They’ve kept the new turf watered throughout the drought that we have been experiencing during the spring of 2025, and it has been great to return to see it green and vibrant.

A new lawn needs to be watered daily for the first three weeks whilst it establishes, and if the weather is hot and dry; watering should be continued. The first cut shouldn’t be too low. They’ve done a great job looking after it since we finished. We were so happy to return to see it shining in the sun.

The timber screening at the back of the patio gives it a modern, stylish look. It allows air to flow through and plants to climb up it, whilst looking aesthetically pleasing. It combines with the timber raised bed well.
