If you didn’t see our previous post about the start of this driveway, have a look here.

The boys cut the sweeping edge for the new border once the slabs were laid. Drainage was also installed along the pavement edge for rainwater run off.

The curve coming off the house makes this driveway much more interesting, it gives the eye something to draw around as it sweeps around the border and driveway perimeter.

A drain cover was also installed to replace an old man hole cover. Matching grey limestone edging was also included.

The soil in the border and in front of the garden wall was chuffed up, with new top soil incorporated. Instead of a grass verge in front of the wall, we are going to include Wildflower Meadow Turf. The plants were brought in and laid out.

This tree will be taken down in September once nesting has ended. Once this is done the final slabs and edging can be laid – we have left a small section by the tree roots. The meadow turf will be laid in a week or so – this will be more exciting than grass and will benefit wildlife, the family who live here and their neighbours and passers by.

The last thing to do before we left was to give the new border a thick mulch and water it well. It’s been super hot this week, with the hottest day of the year only the day before, so our customer will keep an eye on watering it going forward. Check back in with us in September to see this driveway completed.
