Upon filling out our enquiry form, requirements for your garden can be jotted down with any ideas that you may have, such as a wanting a new patio, planted garden borders, or a full landscaping transformation.
When we arrive at your garden, we look at the space with you and discuss your thoughts. We also look at points in the garden, like structural factors, drainage and different levels in the garden which are all very important when first creating a garden design.
We look at the aspect of your garden; is it facing north, south, east or west? The amount of sun or light your garden receives at different points in the day makes a difference to where we might situate a patio or seating area, or where you might like a pergola or pond to be. Everything must carefully be taken into consideration.
Ali draws up a quick sketch of your garden whilst he is in situ, he then measures the areas to be worked upon. He took special care to work out the difference in height from the higher level of this garden sloping down towards the house, to make sure that we get the level right when it comes to landscaping.
We look at trees and shrubs and talk discuss if they are in the correct place. Do they need to be moved? Are they ill with a disease and haven’t been doing well for some years? Perhaps some need removing. We enjoy creating gardens, ensuring to plant beautiful trees, shrubs and perennials that will benefit you, the space and the wildlife that enters it.
With our wealth of landscaping knowledge, we discuss various materials that could be good options for your garden. We also offer ideas for recycling and reusing materials that are already in your garden – rather than disposing of useful items such as bricks, which could be worked into the design instead.
Discussing gutters, drains, low points and water run off are all important factors, and we ensure to measure thoroughly and give you options depending on your budget.
