Thornbury New Build Garden Design

We started another new build garden design this week; this time in Thornbury, north of Bristol. Once again the back garden was just grass when we began, with a design to create two patios diagonally across the garden from each other, a pergola and a concrete shed base.

Frequent showers with bursts of sunshine for most of the week, so it got pretty muddy whilst digging out the areas for the patios and garden borders.

As the grass is in good condition it is being kept as a lawn, with planting around the edges of the garden.

We scalped the lawn around the edges of the lawn, which will be planted up at the end of the project. With five of us, this didn’t take much time.

Two crates of grey limestone paving arrived, which was brought in, ready to lay. Thankfully by this point the sun was shining.

We carried on through the week with showers throughout, but laid the paving quickly and easily with four of us working on it.

Timber was brought in to start constructing a pergola. We’ll look forward to seeing this pergola with a lovely climber creeping up it in the future.

Once the paving was laid, we swept in Easy Joint jointing compound.

This garden will be finished early next week, so come back then to see the completed garden.
