The boys carried on digging and bagging up ballast from underneath the artificial grass, along with digging out the garden borders and preparing them for planting. A retaining wall was constructed for the patio base, with timber uprights added for the garden structure.
The red brick will compliment the grey limestone paving that will be used on the patio and surrounding the artificial grass, which is being left in the centre of the garden design. Our elderly customer cannot manage a lawn due to health reasons, so this part of it is being kept. However, we feel that with the planting to be added we can revitalise this garden for wildlife and people.
The boys cut the paving slabs to make them sit around the garden curve. This looks really effective sweeping around the garden.
Whilst this was all going on, we also headed out to our timber merchant to collect some Douglas Fir waney edge to clad the roof of the garden structure. We love heading out there to pick up timber products.
We loaded up the truck, secured it and headed back to the job in North Bristol.
Upon our arrival with the timber, we can see that Team Jerry have got a lot done. The grey limestone patio, paving and matching edging is down. The cut out borders need to be filled with soil and plants, but this project is really coming together.
Come back next time to see the garden structure completed with roof, and the planted borders, that will entice insects and wildlife. The artificial grass may still be in the centre of the garden, but it’s a huge improvement compared to what we arrived to. If you’d like to see this garden when we began, click here.
