Upon arriving at the driveway, we could see that our customer was very happily using it with their two cars parked on the paving. The grass verge, which had previously been removed when the hedge was taken down had been left, whilst we waited for the meadow turf to arrive.

We could see that during the time that we had been away, our customer had taken great care over the newly planted border. She has been watering it daily during this hot, dry, summer weather. The gap in the driveway paving is due to the fact that the tree will be removed in the autumn. Once this has been done the edge of the driveway will be finished.

After preparing the soil; removing weeds, roots and large stones and then raking, we started laying down the metre square strips of turf. We cut it to shape with a saw, ensuring that it fit the area perfectly.

Watering of new turf is key. Meadow turf should be treated the same as standard rye turf in the first few weeks whilst it establishes; watering it daily for three weeks.

If you are interested in adding meadow turf to your garden, give us a call to discuss your requirements. There are different types to choose from, with a low grow height of plants, which we have used in this space, to a taller meadow turf for larger spaces.
