Timber Screening with Porcelain Patio

When we arrived at this garden in the Bishopston area of Bristol, it appeared quite small and dark due to lots of overgrown vegetation. The couple who live here wanted a more functional space where they could relax, with a low maintenance design.

It took a few days clearing out all of the vegetation, which included trees, hedging and climbers. It was pretty hot weather and a lot of icy lollies were consumed! All of the green waste had to go through the house and out the front door, as there is no alternative access to the garden, as is the case with many homes in Bristol.

The boys did a great job, constructing timber screening around the entirety of the garden, with lovely chunky sleeper raised borders. The pale porcelain paving compliments the yellow tone of the wood nicely.

The raised beds were planted with a variety of grasses, perennials and small shrubs, which already look great. Next year they will look even better once they have grown and developed.

This garden seems so much larger now, and is all set for a bbq party before the winter approaches. Come back another time to see what else we’ve been up to…
