A gap was left underneath the timber screen, on the left hand side of this photo, to enable us to remove large pieces of concrete, rubble and soil out and down to our truck below.
The remaining soil, which was of good quality we used to fill up the raised beds, which surround the patio area. The yellow limestone paving really brightens up this section, and combines well with the tone of the surrounding wood.
For the week ahead, we have the paving to finish, and the step leading from the patio down to the lawn to construct, plus the upper patio which will be outside of the bay windows to start working on. This will be made out of large flagstones that were in the garden. We have removed them from one area and will reuse them. Of course, we will then scalp the turf in preparation for a new lawn.
Check back in with us soon to see how this garden is going.
