Structural Elements – Stepping Stones

Sometimes our services are purely required for incorporating additional structural elements, that can make a big difference. We visited this garden in the Bishopston area of Bristol this week, where we had previously constructed the patio about a year ago. They have a new puppy and need to take it into the garden. They realised with the coming of winter that they would be getting quite muddy.

Jerry and Sam dug out and laid these yellow sandstone stepping stones in a couple of days. A small job, yet this new feature in the garden will make the space more functional and easy to use for the people who live here.

They started off by carrying in the paving; laying out the slabs, to get a feel for the curve of the meandering line.

As the slabs are put in position, you can already see how the addition of the stepping stones transforms this part of the garden, running past the pond, and linking the spaces.

The stone bird bath that matches the look of the stepping stones, makes it feel like they have always been there. We know that the walkway has already helped the early morning trips into the garden, and the little puppy certainly seems to like them.
