We’ve had great weather during this job, which makes things a lot less muddy. George began the project by digging out the original driveway, that had been created with gravel and concrete.
George filled the digger directly with soil to be transported to the recycling centre. Shrubs that were no longer required were also removed.
The reclaimed flagstones that are starting to be laid, already compliment the new stone wall. If you’d like to see our post about the stone walling, please click here.
Once the waste materials have been removed, George levelled the rest of the driveway, working to an incline going up the street and sloping up towards the house from the pavement.
For a contrast with the flagstones we are using limestone cobbles. George is laying them from the drain line back towards the house.
This driveway will be in keeping with the family’s Georgian home. Check back in with us next week to see how this driveway project is developing.
