We’ve finally got some pretty hot consecutive days and have been busy smashing out the old materials that need removing. First of all we removed the paving that was outside the patio doors, along with more paving at the bottom of the garden. The Victorian edging tiles have been saved and will be used at a later stage of this garden design.
Most of the old paving and concrete was taken away as hardcore to be recycled, with the remainder of the smaller bits being smashed up to re-use as the base for the new porcelain patio.
It was a really nice morning working together in this garden, and we’re looking forward to seeing the champagne porcelain being laid shortly.
You can see the area starting to take shape once the old patio and edging has been removed.
As well as working on the patio areas, the overgrown hedges were started being cut back, and a large fern was moved as this lower area of the garden is prepared for further landscaping.
The present lawn area will be removed next week, and will have hoggin laid with stepping stones going through it to a more relaxed hoggin based patio at the far end of the garden.
Keep checking in with us to see how our projects are going. We are very busy as always, and enjoy sharing our garden transformations with you.
