Our team have been constructing the new patio area that sweeps around the back of the house, along with a smaller patio at the end of the garden. These have been connected with stepping stones in the same grey porcelain slabs.

At the top of the garden by the new fence and back gate, an area was prepared on the left hand side for a new shed base. On the right hand side a trench was dug to prepare the base for the stepping stones leading from the small patio to the gate.

A trench was also for the new edging stones to be laid, separating the borders from the lawn area. These will really help the eye to move around the garden easily, as well as being functional.

Next we started thinking about the pathway entrance into the garden. The pavers which we had removed, that had been the original patio, are going to be reused here. We stacked these up at the start of this project, ready for this phase. This is a good use of materials; meaning less is wasted, and less fuel is used to transport waste materials around.

Membrane was laid underneath stone dust prior to starting work laying the paving. This will help it to stay weed free.

The new stepping stones look fantastic and link the different areas of the garden together, with the matching edging stones giving cohesion to the project.
