We graduated the existing lawn down to the new turf. The whole garden looks much bigger than when we began a couple of weeks ago. The smaller stepping stones combined with the larger ones creates a strong pattern, leading the eye across the garden.
Once the lawn was laid we dug a shallow trench to lay the sandstone cobbled edging. The cobbles give an extra texture to the design, bringing the lawn and paving together.
We neatened up the edge of the paving with a disc cutter to give a nice clean edge against the new cobbles.
The next part of this design is building a sandstone paved step from the patio down into the walkway between the front and back of the house. Check back in with us next week to see how this garden ends up!
