Since our last post about this project, which you can see here, Jerry has laid the majority of the rumbled charcoal block paving for the driveway, and is now cutting the final pieces of the puzzle – to fit around and inside a new recessed drain cover.

Whilst Jerry was adding the finishing touches to the main body of the driveway, Flo was pointing the sunken grey, porcelain patio area. It was a sunny, warm, autumnal day – just perfect for brushing in pointing compound.

Along with pointing the slabs, she also pointed in between the coping stones and the steps. The new retaining wall looks smart, and will provide the roses with a new border, which will also include a variety of lavender, salvias, cranesbill geraniums, a fuschia and ground cover plants. We will be planting these borders along with the newly landscaped back garden next week.

The new timber screening gives privacy to this front garden, giving the family that live here more usable outdoor space. The tops of the timber posts will be cut off and the low wall painted. We can’t wait to see it planted up. Check back in with us soon to see the photos of this completed front garden/driveway transformation.
