Bowland Stone delivered three different sizes of charcoal rumbled blocks to our site. First off, these were used to edge the borders and the drainage channels around the driveway.
The blocks were laid on a mixture of stone dust and sand. This base is levelled off, with the blocks positioned into place. The whole driveway will be wacked down at the end with a wacker plate.
We used wooden planks, so as not to stand on the blocks until they are compacted down at the end of the project. Block paving is a popular choice for driveways, patios and walkways.
Block paving is durable and can withstand heavy traffic and weather changes. The interlocking design of the blocks distributes weight, reducing the risk of damage over time.
Block paving requires minimal maintenance, and can be designed in a variety of patterns, colours and shapes. Replacing individual blocks is relatively simple and less expensive than repairing larger sections of an alternative hard landscaped material.
Block paving in a driveway allows water to permeate, which can help prevent water pooling and erosion.
A well-designed block paving driveway can increase the value of your property. Buyers may consider a block paved driveway as an investment in the property. This driveway already looks sleek and modern, with the block paving perfectly inline with the front door step.
We can’t wait to see it finished. The last touches after the block paving is to plant the borders and add the new gates. Check back in with us then to see this completed project.
