It was great to see the Iris flowering upon our arrival, but there was quite a build up of algae and duck weed. Flo spent some time skimming out the excess, being careful of pond skaters and other tiny insects.
There used to be fish in this pond, but our customer saw a heron a while ago – and then the fish were gone!
Once Flo had skimmed out the debris, we were careful to leave a pile on the side, by the corner of the pond, so that any creepy crawlies who had been swept up, would be able to escape back into the water.
Once we had weeded, cut back and swept the back garden, we moved into the front. We really enjoy working here, it is very tranquil and a delightful place to be in. The front garden has a blousey, large Weigela that was flowering and looking stunning with the back drop of the sandstone Georgian buildings across the street.
We pruned, weeded, planted and swept up, until the front garden was looking like a perfect, little haven to wander through. Our customer had been away on holiday for a month, so we thoroughly watered everything, as it’s been so dry lately. Come back and check out our blog next time to see where we’ve been…
