The garden wasn’t functional enough and couldn’t be fully enjoyed, and although it was a bit sad to remove the many rose bushes, which had obviously been lovingly planted some time in the past, the team cracked on ripping everything out and getting the garden back to a base level.
We brought in a digger to help move the large amount of soil around and to level it out. Then the boys started making concrete footings for new walls, to go around some of the perimeter of the garden.
We brought in a lot of concrete blocks, but thankfully the access on this job has been much better than some of our more recent projects.
As the soil is levelled out around the new walls the structure of the garden starts to take shape. And when the boys started putting up the timber screening on a sunny day just before the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, the garden really seemed to spring into action. Timber screening is stylish, modern, easy to construct, creates a good screen for privacy, and can have plants growing up if you want.
Come back next week and see how this garden is being transformed. We’ve got a patio and a lawn to lay, and lots of finishing touches…
